There is no better way to relax and rest than with a visit to the “Buen Retiro” Park. Although we didn’t exactly rest as one has to walkabout a lot. We walked down the “Gran Vía” arriving at the “Cibeles” Fountain and turned onto the Prado Path briefly stopping at the Apollo Fountain and further ahead at the Neptune Fountain. The Sacrarium Chapel – Cathedral Mosque of Cordoba
The Chapel of the Tabernacle or Sacrarium (Capilla del Sagrario) of the Cathedral Mosque of Cordoba, Spain, was one of those surprises that leave you speechless. After seeing so many combined architectural elements of Arab culture and Christianity, suddenly one discovers this chapel filled with murals on all walls, columns, arches and headers, it was amazing. The Church of “Santiago” or the Church of St. James the Elder in Ecija, Sevilla Province, is considered the most interesting buildings and one of the most elegant churches in all of Andalusia. The Roman Bridge of Córdoba, also known as the “Old Bridge”, presently has 16 of the original 17 arches and measures across 331 meters (over 361 yards). Finally in Madrid!
Our visit to Spain began in Madrid to later travel to Andalusia and return to Madrid. Therefore, we had a couple of days to explore the city.

Roman Mausoleum of Córdoba
As we strolled through Córdoba, we unexpectedly encountered a large circular or cylindrical structure which turned out to be part of the Roman Mausoleums of Córdoba, a pleasant surprise. In researching the same, we discovered that this was of the most important funeral structures of the city built by the Romans and that they date back to the I Century. We observed that the same had be completely re-built and the burial hall containing Ash Urns as well as remains of its base, cornice and banisters .
