Madrid from above

Located in front of the “Plaza de España” on the “Gran Vía” avenue in Madrid, Spain, is the refurbished building now known as RIU Plaza Hotel. The hotel is located in the emblematic “Spain Building” and houses the Sky Bar and the 360º terrace, an outdoor rooftop bar where you can see the most exquisite views of the city of Madrid.

The “Spain Building” had been abandoned for almost ten years and reopened in summer of 2019 (official opening was 10/09/2019) as a hotel, which has been very well received, promoting economic activity in the sector. Sky Bars and 360º terraces have become very popular in recent years and tourists look for them to get panoramic views of the cities visited.

The open roof terrace of the RIU Hotel is not the first one in Madrid, but it is among the highest views available, no less than on the 27th floor. There is also a glass walkway that gives visitors that feeling of being “suspended in the air”.

The Royal Palace, the Debod Temple and many other points of interest can be seen from this terrace. The 360º view from this point of view is well worth € 5 (from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and the wait.
