The Royal Chapel – Granada

Granada was the city selected by the Catholic Kings to be their final resting place. The Royal Chapel was built between 1505 and 1517. Of a Gothic style, the exterior is modeled after the Monastery of Saint John of the Kings of Toledo. Inside we not only find the tombs of Queen Isabel and her spouse, Fernando II of Aragon, King of Aragon; but also the tombs of Juana I of Castile, Queen of Castile and Aragon and that of her husband, Felipe I of Castile, the Handsome. Also buried there is the infant, Miguel de la Paz of Portugal, the grandson of the Catholic Kings.
