“Real Alcázar de Sevilla”

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, Spain, forms an extraordinary mixture of Arab and Christian art. It has been used as accommodation for kings and high personalities. It has also been the scene of several productions such as The Kingdom of Heaven, Alatriste or Game of Thrones.

It is made up of different buildings from different eras. The original fortification was built on an ancient Roman settlement and later Visigothic. Later it became an early Christian basilica. The Real Alcázar begins to take its current appearance after the taking of the city by the Arabs in the year 713. One of the palaces surrounding two courtyards is from the same period as the Alhambra in Granada. To carry out the work, they were sent by the Nasrid king Mohamed V important artisans .. After the Reconquest of the city, in 1248, the Royal Alcazar were of the successive monarchs. Alfonso X the Wise made the first reforms creating three large Gothic halls. Later Pedro I decided to build the wonderful Mudéjar Palace. Definitely, visiting this wonderful group is an experience that at least once we must live, if it can be repeated, better.
