However, it is a woman born in 1862, in Stockholm, Sweden, who experimented with that style years before those great ones. Her name, Hilma af Klint, pioneer of abstract art. Cold and Hot Stoves of Lisbon – Portugal

On the northwest side of the Eduardo VII Park in Lisbon, Portugal, there is the Cold Stove and the Quente Stove, a botanical garden full of plants that can be found in both cold and tropical climates. The Cold Stove (Estufa Fria) has many exotic plants, streams, waterfalls, palm trees, bushes with flowers and banana trees. The Quente Stove (Hot Stove) has plants and birds of tropical climate. New York Public Library

In the mid-nineteenth century, the city of New York had a population larger than that of Paris and was approaching in size the population of London, the most populous city of the world at that time. Great leaders of the city visualized that to become a world-class city, something more than having a large population had to be done. One of the important elements missing from New York City was a proper library.

We received recommendations to visit The Gallery Inn in Old San Juan (Puerto Rico), and during one of our usual strolls through the walled city, we decided to visit it. In reality, they fell short when describing the complex and everything it houses. It is simply a wonderful and magical place.
