During our recent visit to New York and despite the cold and the wind, we were able to walk upon the High Line. The strolled served to connect our visits to the «Vessel» with the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Cold and Hot Stoves of Lisbon – Portugal
On the northwest side of the Eduardo VII Park in Lisbon, Portugal, there is the Cold Stove and the Quente Stove, a botanical garden full of plants that can be found in both cold and tropical climates. The Cold Stove (Estufa Fria) has many exotic plants, streams, waterfalls, palm trees, bushes with flowers and banana trees. The Quente Stove (Hot Stove) has plants and birds of tropical climate. Estufa Fria y la Estufa Quente, de Lisboa – Portugal
En el lado noroeste del Parque Eduardo VII en Lisboa, Portugal, se encuentra la Estufa Fria y la Estufa Quente, un jardín botánico repleto de plantas que podemos encontrar tanto en climas fríos, como en climas tropicales. La Estufa Fria cuenta con numerosas plantas exóticas, riachuelos, cascadas, palmeras, arbustos con flores y bananeras. La Estufa Quente posee plantas y aves de clima tropical.

A mediados del siglo XIX, la ciudad de Nueva York tenía una población más grande que la de París y se acercaba en tamaño a la población de Londres, la ciudad más poblada en esos tiempos. Grandes líderes de la ciudad visualizaban que para convertirse en una ciudad de clase mundial, había que hacer algo más que tener una gran población. Una de los elementos importantes que le faltaba a la ciudad de Nueva York era una gran biblioteca.

In the mid-nineteenth century, the city of New York had a population larger than that of Paris and was approaching in size the population of London, the most populous city of the world at that time. Great leaders of the city visualized that to become a world-class city, something more than having a large population had to be done. One of the important elements missing from New York City was a proper library.

We received recommendations to visit The Gallery Inn in Old San Juan (Puerto Rico), and during one of our usual strolls through the walled city, we decided to visit it. In reality, they fell short when describing the complex and everything it houses. It is simply a wonderful and magical place.
